Dr Sammy Mason

I’m Sammy, a freelance facilitator and consultant specialising in community & youth engagement and research & evaluation. I have a PhD which focussed on environmental education and citizen science, using engaged research methods and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. I’ve led interdisciplinary projects spanning the fields of ecology, education and social science both inside and outside of academia. I have over ten years of experience working with schools and I’m particularly interested in projects around nature, wellbeing and STEAM subjects 🌿. In true freelance style, I wear many hats but some of the ways I can support projects are ⬇️

🤝 Developing, delivering and facilitating co-production workshops for research or engagement projects
👩‍🔬 Creating science communication outputs to make research or project resources more accessible and reach new audiences
🗣️ Providing training for researchers in topics such as co-production, public engagement, science communication and citizen science
📈 Supporting charities and universities with their own research or engagement projects including gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data
✍️ Providing independent evaluation for projects, particularly NLHF project reporting
🏫 Supporting school engagement projects including designing and/or delivering workshops in schools, creating school resources and delivering teacher training
